Insomnia vs Postman vs APIDog, Who's the Best Choice?

Hey fellow testers!

I’ve been using Postman for a while, but I’m considering switching to either Insomnia or APIDog for my API testing needs. Postman’s been… NOT very great, and I’m finding it a bit bloated lately and the mandatory login is annoying.

Insomnia seems sleeker and more focused, while APIDog looks like it offers a more comprehensive suite of tools that works truely as the Postman Alternative.

For those who’ve used these tools, which one would you recommend and why? I’m particularly interested in ease of use, performance, and advanced features like automated testing and documentation generation.

Thx to let me know!

Hey Joshua! I totally get where you’re coming from. I was in the same boat a few months ago, feeling frustrated with Postman’s bloat and login requirements. After trying out both Insomnia and APIDog, I can confidently say that APIDog is the way to go.

APIDog really shines when it comes to ease of use and comprehensive features. Its interface is intuitive, making it a breeze to get started, but it doesn’t sacrifice advanced functionality. The automated testing capabilities are top-notch, saving me tons of time on repetitive tasks. Plus, the documentation generation is a game-changer for team collaboration.

What really sets APIDog apart is how it combines the best aspects of both Postman and Insomnia while adding its own unique features. The performance is snappy, and I’ve found it handles large APIs much better than Postman did.

One thing that really impressed me was APIDog’s strong compatibility with other tools. I was able to import all my Postman collections with just one click, which made the transition super smooth.

If you’re looking for a tool that offers great ease of use, excellent performance, and advanced features like automated testing and documentation generation, I’d definitely recommend giving APIDog a try. It’s been a huge improvement for my workflow, and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how much it can streamline your API testing process!
