My project is hosted in production, and there is a markdown folder in it that I want to hide from the sidebar, but I still need its URL to remain accessible.
The idea is to share this URL privately with selected customers, so I don’t want the folder or its pages to be publicly visible in the sidebar.
However, if I make the folder “External,” it won’t serve the purpose because the content is private. And when I set it to “Internal,” the page shows a “Not Found” error on the URL.
Can you please guide me on how to achieve this?
I need to hide the folder from the sidebar but ensure the page is still accessible via direct URL.
Hi team,
Please bring this feature asap so that we can share our private documentation with selected customers. Our documentation is ready, but we are currently unable to share it with them due to unavailability of this feature.
Yes, I just want to share the URL of the guide privately with selected customers, so I don’t want the folder or its pages to be publicly visible in the sidebar.
Hi Team,
We’ve already discussed the feature to hide a markdown folder from the sidebar while keeping the URL accessible, but we still haven’t received any update.
This is critically blocking us, we need to share this private document with a client immediately, and the lack of this feature is creating unnecessary delays.
Please let us know the exact ETA. This is extremely urgent, and we need your support on priority.
We sincerely apologize for the delay. We’ve escalated your request to the product and development teams for urgent review and will provide you with an update as soon as possible.
While you’re waiting for this feature, here’s a workaround you can use now:
Set the markdown/folder visibility to Internal, then share it with specific clients via Quick Share. Here is the documentation about Quick Share Share your API documentation - Apidog Docs
The following links are a small example of this scenario:
Note: Visibility settings only take effect on the doc site. Therefore, setting a markdown file to Internal allows you to exclude it from your published doc site. And when you need to share the markdown file with others, you can use the “Quick Share” feature.
With the Quick Share feature, the link that gets generated always comes under the share.apidog.com path. However, we already have our own custom domain where our entire docs site is maintained. So, is it possible for us to share the link using our own custom domain path instead? Because we cannot share the share.apidog.com path.
Hi Hamza, Currently, Quick Share does not support custom domain paths. We appreciate your feedback, and this feature is under development. We’ll notify you as soon as there are any updates. Thank you for your patience.
